Apartment in Rouen, France
Area – 230 sq.m.
Year – 2017
Workshop Dmitry Grinevich created an interior of an apartment of 230 m2 for an extraordinary family, which lives in the French city of Rouen. The hosts wanted an eclectic, but unusual accommodation, in which the classic would be next to modern design elements.
The 4-room apartment is located in a historic building, it has well-preserved stucco molding, and also has two fireplaces. It was necessary to combine all this with brand furniture and a smart home system, and complement the interior so that it did not look standard.
The dominant colors here are black and white monochrome, warm wood and cold green. At selection of furniture used such upholstery or color which are not present in standard deliveries and collections. In some cases, I had to turn to other producers to make a replica.
Designers successfully beat spacious rooms, laying on the floor a wide parquet board. Due to this, the space visually increased even more. In the center of the living room, a chandelier made of metal tubes of different lengths with luminous tips was hung up. Pipes simulate oxidized bronze and are covered with glossy varnish. In general, every room is decorated with some modern designer chandelier.
In the office one of the walls and the front part of the working table is decorated with wooden blocks, which echoes with the wood-burning masonry near the fireplace. The long hall serves as a kind of gallery, there was a place for large black and white photographs. In the master bedroom there is a lot of natural light thanks to the windows on the floor, which, when opened, form a small balcony overlooking the ancient buildings.
Behind the leather sofa on the wall, bordered with stucco molding, an unusual decorative element was placed – a panel of light-coated steel, on which the words “this accent” are cut out by a laser. Instead of the usual table-lamps in front of the panel on the nightstand stand street lamps-columns. They, like the chandelier, are decorated with bronze.
